The war on the inside

Though I talk to the Spirit within because I love Him and He loves me, there is also another truth that we see talked about in the Bible - another reason why we're to commune with the Spirit. It's not rocket science that when we talk to someone on a consistent basis we will begin to love them more and more. And then as we begin to see this persons love for us, we're going to begin wanting to please that person and not give ourselves to other lovers.

16 Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Gal. 5:16)

Having an ongoing dialoge with the Holy Spirit within is the key to resisting temptation and abstaining from the lust of our flesh. Talking to Christ within is the way to experience freedom from sins that we’ve struggled with for years. When this revelation hit my heart it radically changed my life and has continued to do so. I believe that this is one of the most important revelations that God has given us in His Word and has called us to walk in on a daily basis.

Gaining freedom from ungodly desires through fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. This is by far one of the most important parts of our walk with God, and one of the most stunning truths that we must know and put into practice. Understanding and walking into this truth will bring freedom to your heart in a way that you possibly have never experienced before.

I believe that one of the greatest points of tension and unrest in the life of all believers is learning how to control the lust of the flesh. It definitely is in mine! No matter how big or how small the sin that I’m being tempted with, I had the question for so many years of my life, how do I control those desires? The cry in my heart is “Lord, I really do love you, I sincerely long to give myself to you completely and be righteous! But I keep fulfilling the lust of my flesh! How can I control this?”

More than just the random desire to be righteous and even more than the gritting of my teeth in my trying to abstain from the lust of my flesh, I believe that the Bible gives us very clear answers to the question: “How can I control the lust of my flesh?” God has given us the clear way to conquer them and to continue to have victory over them on a day to day basis.

The Lord could say to us today, "Talk to Me, you will fall in love with Me, and then you will want to obey Me."
