I wonder how much we in the western Church have hindered the growth of biblical faith in our children by editing the Bible so drastically when we tell them its stories…

I’m guessing most people don’t feel very noble in their walk with the Lord. Our pilgrimage of going from strength to strength is often two steps forward, one step back. We sign up for wholehearted obedience, and then get distracted or discouraged; and a week later we need to sign up again. And this just keeps happening.

Psalm 23 is one of my favorite passages of Scripture. It is, perhaps, the most well-known psalm, loved for its words of comfort. But it’s far from cute. The comfort it provides is deep—and perhaps different than we might expect.
