Aaron grew up in Prince George, BC, Canada and moved to IHOP in May 2007. His passion and desire is to serve the Lord through prayer and fasting and to preach the love of Christ to the nations of the earth.


 
I was born in Prince George, British Columbia.  I grew up in a Christian home and made a decision to follow Christ when I was 5 years old.  My parents were missionaries so I spent almost 2 years living in China and Thailand at different times throughout my childhood.

My parents lived a life of faith and prayer.  As a young boy, my family spent 6 months in main land China.  My dad prayed daily for revival in China while we were there and both my mom and my dad had many amazing encounters with the Lord through dreams and visions.  They learned to live by faith as the Holy Spirit miraculously orchestrated their circumstances and met them time and time again with financial breakthrough.  I didn’t realize it at the time but I know now that the Lord set me in my family for a reason:  He had called me from a young age to be an intercessor, worshiper and preacher.  But it would not be an easy journey.

Even before I became a teenager, I started to fall away from the Lord.  By the time I was 15 years old I was living a lifestyle of drugs, alcohol and crime.  I lived under a cloud of deep depression and self-hatred.  When I was 19 my life had hit rock bottom.  I had dropped out of school and was unemployed, was drinking and doing drugs daily and felt like I had no purpose in life.  One day as I sat in my basement suite a great fear of dying and going to hell came over me.  I cried out to God for mercy and gave my life to Him!  Great joy and zeal filled my heart.  Looking back I now realize that the Lord had been watching over me all through my teenage life and that He had remembered the prayer I prayed as a 5-year-old boy.

One of the first things I did after giving my life to Christ was start Bible school.  I attended a year-long discipleship training program at my church where I studied the scriptures and ministered throughout Canada sharing my testimony and preaching the gospel.

After Bible school I began a career in Forestry.  I worked for several reforestation companies and worked at a sawmill.  I also started a real estate company involved with buying and selling houses and rental properties.  Although I enjoyed working in the marketplace, I knew that the Lord was calling me to full-time occupational ministry.

In 2007 I moved to Kansas City, Missouri and joined the International House of Prayer Missions Base.  I have been here ever since serving in the house of prayer with fasting, intercession, praying for the sick, prophesying, evangelism, rapping and singing.  The Lord has given me a burning desire to minister to Him in the place of full-time prayer and worship and to contend for preachers to arise in the nations of the earth who are endued with power.
